The project objective is to increase the participation of young people in the decision-making processes at the local level and to develop new forms of dialogue between youth and local self-governments. Through this program, young people will get acquainted with the available mechanisms when it comes to participating in changes within their municipalities, and thus provide them with the starting point for effective articulation of their interests and needs.

Young people will have the opportunity to directly meet with the leaders of their municipalities and to approach them with requests, proposals and suggestions. In this way, there will be a direct contact between the local authorities and the youth who will be able to express the needs and ideas for the development of the city. In addition, this programme will contribute to the development of democracy in Montenegro because it encourages participatory decision-making and greater involvement of citizens in processes that concern them.

In addition, in this way young people will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the ways of functioning of public administration and ways of exercising citizens’ rights. The project will include a segment of providing youth with the information on participation mechanisms at local as well as national level, research on the attitudes of young people in the decision-making processes as well as direct meetings between youth and municipal leaders.
